We provide a free blood pressure monitoring service at all of out pharmacies and no appointment is needed.
Our fully trained Living Care Pharmacy staff will take your blood pressure in our private consultation rooms. The test is simple and takes just a few minutes. Our staff will then carefully explain the results and provide any advice you may need. We will give you all the support you need to manage your blood pressure but will refer you to your GP if we feel it is necessary.
If left untreated high blood pressure, or hypertension, can lead to a number of health problems including strokes, heart problems and organ damage.
If you have any concerns about diabetes (type 1 or 2) please speak to one of our pharmacists. We are seeing an increase in the number of people developing diabetes and want you to know there is a lot we can do to help.

Living Care pharmacies stock a very broad range of holiday toiletries, so we can help you with almost everything you’ll need when you travel. We have all the basics such as sun lotions and travel sickness tablets but also specialist products such as vaccinations and anti-malaria tablets.
The biggest benefit of buying your travel necessities from our pharmacies is that we can help you choose the best products for you. Our trained staff hold Holiday Clinics where we can advise you about how to stay healthy while you are away and if you’re ill when you return, we can also help you choose the best remedy.
If you need vaccination certificates we can provide those too; there is however a cost for this service.
If you think you may need emergency contraception please speak to a Living Care pharmacist. All of our pharmacists are highly trained and will be able to help you make the right decision for you whether you have had unprotected sex or your usual method of contraception has failed.
There is no need to make an appointment and this service is completely confidential. We will be able to provide you with advice about a number of emergency contraception options and if necessary we can dispense the ‘morning after’ pill without a prescription. In some cases this is free.
We will however refer you to your doctor if for some reason we are unable to help you.
We can help customers with any disability including sight and hearing disabilities. All of our pharmacies are accessible to disabled customers but please ask if you would like additional assistance.
We can provide a number of different products and services specifically for people with disabilities. Let us know if you would prefer your medicines supplied in easy open containers for instance, or if medicines arranged in daily doses and reminder charts would be helpful.

Living Care Pharmacy provides a sympathetic and confidential needle exchange and disposal service. Bring your used needles and syringes to us and we will replace them with sterile ones.

Whilst we can exchange your needles and arrange for them to be disposed of safely for you, we also provide additional advice and support.
Our pharmacists provide practical assistance for people caring for relatives and friends who are unwell. It is always a good idea to talk to your local Living Care pharmacist about the care you are giving and in particular the medications that are needed.
We will help you make the best clinical decisions and can provide practical assistance too. There are lots of simple things we can do to make caring just that little bit easier such as providing medicines in weekly disposal trays, easy-to-open packs or even timed-self-opening dispensers.
Disposal Of Medicines
Unwanted medicines should always be returned to a pharmacy; they should never be passed on to anyone else or flushed down the toilet.
All Living Care pharmacies provide a free disposal service and we have a license that enables us to transport waste medicines, so we can collect them from you if you need us to.
It’s good idea to check your medicine cupboard regularly and to clear out any out-of-date or unused items. It doesn’t matter if they were provided by your doctor, a hospital or care home, just bring them to us and we’ll dispose of them safely for you. Please remember to store your remaining medicines in a safe place away out of the reach of children.

NHS Medicine Use Reviews
It might be useful to talk to our pharmacists about how you are getting on with any regular medicines you take. We can answer any questions you may have and help you learn more about your medicines and if you are having any problems taking your medicines, we may be able to assist.
Patient Medication Records
All the prescriptions dispensed by us are recorded on our computer system. This means we can check for any problems such as reactions between medicines and also helps us deal with any queries you may have.
We comply with the Data Protection Act and the NHS code of practice on confidentiality.

All of our Living Care pharmacists are highly trained and provide confidential advice about all aspects of healthcare and well being. We have private consultation facilities and no appointment is necessary.
Our trained pharmacists can review your medications to help you make sure that you are maximising their benefits and minimising any problems. These private face-to-face reviews are particularly beneficial for patients taking multiple medications and with long term conditions.
NHS new medicines service
This new service, funded by the NHS, enables you to ask your pharmacists all those questions you wished you’d asked when you saw your Doctor. It can be quite overwhelming when you have been diagnosed with a new condition or prescribed a new medicine. Now you can ask for a private consultation with one of our pharmacists who will carefully explain everything you need to know.
